The Rise Internship Programme (TRIP)
TRIP is a prestigious flagship public policy internship offered by Sarvoday TheRise Foundation, wherein selected candidates are required to conduct research on public policy issues in one of the 16 thematic focus areas (see the flyer), 12 of which are United Nations SDG-aligned, and the remaining four are Geopolitics & International Affairs, Defence & Strategy, Science & Technology, Indian Politics. The research orientation will lie somewhere between academic and journalistic research.
Hamra Bihar
Hamra Bihar is a focused public policy research internship initiative, designed to generate evidence-based insights on Bihar’s real governance, developmental, and socio-cultural challenges. The initiative encourages young researchers to engage deeply with Bihar-specific policy questions across legislative functioning, public finance, welfare delivery, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and social realities. The research orientation lies at the intersection of policy analysis, field-grounded inquiry, and public interest journalism, with a clear emphasis on practical relevance for Bihar’s future.
Amader Bengal
Amader Bengal is a focused public policy research internship initiative, designed to generate evidence-based insights on West Bengal’s real governance, developmental, and socio-cultural challenges. The initiative encourages young researchers to engage deeply with West Bengal-specific policy questions across legislative functioning, public finance, welfare delivery, infrastructure, education, healthcare, and social realities. The research orientation lies at the intersection of policy analysis, field-grounded inquiry, and public interest journalism, with a clear emphasis on practical relevance for West Bengal’s future.
SarvArogya
Overview:
SarvArogya is a health-focused public policy research internship initiative, designed to generate policy suggestions and evidence-based propositions on contemporary public health issues. For a Viksit Bharat@2047, Swasth Bharat@2047 is a sine qua non. And for a Swasth Bharat@2047, India’s healthcare landscape needs paradigmatic transformations to successfully tackle emerging challenges stemming froim climate change, ageing population, medtech import dependency, mental health issues etc. This initiative involves young researchers engaging deeply with 11 such thematic areas that need to be addressed by 2047. The research orientation lies at the intersection of medical domain expertise, policy analysis, field-based insights and futuristic orientation with a clear emphasis on practical relevance.
Eligibility:
1. MBBS students interested in public policy.
2. AYUSH students interested in public policy.
3. Students enrolled in any college/university across India.
4. Graduated youth aspiring to work in public policy, governance, or development sectors.
5. UPSC and State Civil Services aspirants willing to have hands-on exposure in the policy domain.
Expected Deliverables from SarvArogya Interns (one or more of the following):
1. Short-form publications on The Rise: Research Articles, Explainers, Surveys, Issue Briefs, Policy Briefs, Scheme Reviews, Budget Analyses, etc.
2. Long-form publications: Special Reports, Public Health-focused monographs etc.
3. Support roles in editorial, research coordination, outreach, or allied organisational work.
Stipend: ₹500 per week.

Design & Communications Internship
Sarvoday TheRise Foundation is inviting applications from creative individuals interested in graphics design, document design, visual storytelling, social impact communication and digital outreach.
Eligibility:
1. College/University Students
2. Youth public policy enthusiasts
3. Individuals skilled at graphic designing, social media dynamics etc.
Eligibility:
1. Students enrolled in any Indian university or college.
2. Graduated youth aspiring to work in public policy, governance, or development sectors.
3. UPSC and State Civil Services aspirants with an interest in Bihar-centric issues.
Stipend: No stipend, but with performance-based monetary incentives at the discretion of the Foundation.
Application Fee: No application fee.

Eligibility:
1. Bacherlor’s/Master’s in relevant fields
2. Srtrong command over English
3. Proficiency in MS Word, Google Docs
4. Graduated youth aspiring to work in public policy, governance, or development sectors.
5. UPSC and State Civil Services aspirants willing to have hands-on exposure in the policy domain.
Expected Deliverables from Editorial Interns (one or more of the following):
1. Story Ideation
2. Developmental Editing
3. Line Editing, Copyediting
4. Report Formatting
5. Synopsization

Assistantship Opportunities
Health Policy Research Assistant
Sarvoday TheRise Foundation invites applications for Health Policy Research Assistant. The Research Assistant will work at the intersection of medical and public policy domains, and will be involved in designing research frameworks for interns, guiding interns on research approach, translating medical issues into policy insights, assisting editorially in publications and coordinating the programme SarvArogya.
Eligibility:
1. MBBS Graduate / AYUSH Graduate / Professional Background in Public Health / UPSC Aspirant with Medical Science Optional
2. 1-3 years of Experience in Public Health Space
3. Interest in Public Policy & Governance
4. Strong Writing & Analytical Skills
Stipend: ₹10,000 per month.
Mode of Work: Hybrid (Lucknow Office)
Duration of Assistantship: 3 months (extendable based on performance and project progress)
