The Rise Internship Programme (TRIP)

Overview:
TRIP is a prestigious flagship public policy internship offered by Sarvoday TheRise Foundation, wherein selected candidates are required to conduct research on public policy issues in one of the 16 thematic focus areas (see the flyer), 12 of which are United Nations SDG-aligned, and the remaining four are Geopolitics & International Affairs, Defence & Strategy, Science & Technology, Indian Politics. The research orientation will lie somewhere between academic and journalistic research.

Eligibility:
1. Students studying in any Indian university/college.
2. Graduated youth motivated towards a career in public policy.
3. UPSC and State Civil Services aspirants.

Expected Deliverables from TRIP Interns(one or more of the following):
1. Short-form publications on The Rise: Research Articles, Explainers, Book Reviews, Surveys, Issue Briefs, Policy Briefs etc.
2. Long-form publications on The Rise: Special Reports, Monographs etc.
3. Can be assigned administrative, editorial, outreach or other organizational tasks to support The Rise.

Deliverables from The Rise(terms & conditions apply):
1. Digitally Verifiable Certificate of Internship Completion to every successful intern.
2. Entitled to write ‘TRIP Intern’ in their social media profiles during the course of internship.
3. Performance-based incentives (Letter of Recommendation, Certificate of Research Excellence, Editorial Spotlight, and/or cash
incentives) to select interns based on editorially-determined five-fold criteria – original analysis, strong use of
evidence/data, policy relevance, clarity, sustained engagement throughout the internship duration.
4. Weekly mentorship scheduled calls, in addition to need-based calls, to inculcate research-orientation and research
capacity-building in interns.
5. Digital publication and dissemination of selected works through The Rise platforms and social media channels.

Stipend: No stipend. This is an unpaid internship programme.
Application Fee: No fee
Application Window: Applications open round the year.
